
Jeanne Uwizeyimana
Program Director
Jeanne Uwizeyimana holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health with over a decade of experience at Heart and Sole Africa/ Action (HASA). Jeanne has dedicated her career to serving communities affected by podoconiosis, a non-filarial form of elephantiasis. As HASA’s Program Director, she oversees a wide range of responsibilities, including program planning, coordination, and needs assessments. Her work focuses on supporting vulnerable communities affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), particularly podoconiosis. HASA’s interventions encompass community health education, prevention education, disease management, and counseling.
Jeanne has been instrumental in coordinating and managing grants that impact all NTDs in Rwanda and was selected as a mentee for the World Health Organization’s Mwele Malecela Mentorship Program, supporting women working in Neglected Tropical Diseases to become leaders and champions in NTD elimination at national and international levels.

Aline Ingabire
Finance Manager
Aline Ingabire holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance obtained from the University of Rwanda. Aline is our Finance Manager and joined us in April of 2023. She is working towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant and is committed, through funds management, to combat neglected tropical diseases in Rwanda, and the world at large.

Francois Nkurunziza
Senior Nurse & Clinic Manager
Francois Nkurunziza is the Senior Nurse and Clinic Manager at Heart and Sole Africa/Action(HASA) with nearly 20 years of experience in clinical services, health facility management, and community health. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing, a Diploma in General Nursing, and an A2 Nurse qualification. He is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Public Health, with a Global Health focus. He has experience in tuberculosis care and treatment, general consultation, and HIV/AIDS treatment. He has served in leadership roles at several health centers in Rwanda, leading improvements in the quality of care. As HASA’s Clinic Manager, he continues to promote compassionate services, patient-centered care and focuses on strengthening integration of community and facility-based health services for patients affected by
podoconiosis.
JP Bikorimana
Compression Manager
Jean Paul Bikorimana is a social scientist with a PhD specializing in Medical Anthropology applied to Skin Neglected Tropical Diseases. He is the Compression Manager (focusing on edema management) at Heart and Sole Africa/Action and a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Rwanda. After completing his undergraduate studies in physiotherapy sciences, he worked with individuals affected by podoconiosis, a debilitating Neglected Tropical Disease (NTDs) in Rwanda. He dedicates his efforts to raising awareness about podoconiosis in the country, advocating for the provision of podoconiosis services and the alleviation of the suffering faced by patients and their families to promote their overall well-being. He is committed to fighting NTDs, empowering affected communities, and promoting people’s well-being.

Dieudonne Turikumwenimana
Clinical Assistant
Dieudonne Turikumwenimana graduated from secondary school with a diploma in mathematics/ chemistry/biology. He has a passion for helping others, is knowledge seeking, and hardworking as our Heart and Sole Africa clinical assistant.
